The Gathering Pipis design from Gali is a true celebration piece and it carries a real sense of pride. The colours, the story, the collaboration with artist Jake Simon… it all comes together in a way that feels meaningful as well as visually striking.

There’s something about this design that immediately gives off a pride vibe. The rainbow tones aren’t literal, but they’re definitely there in spirit. It feels expressive, joyful, and full of energy.

What really surprised me is how the colours behave in different light. When they’re dry, they’re soft and beautifully blended, but when they’re wet, they come alive. The tones intensify and the whole pattern becomes much more vibrant.

I’ve worked with Gali since they launched in 2022, and it’s been amazing to watch them grow while staying completely rooted in storytelling, culture, and ethical production. What they do so well is combine Indigenous art with performance swimwear in a way that feels respectful and considered. Every piece has meaning behind it, and that’s what makes wearing them feel different. Gali pay the artist royalties and community donations on every product, including those stocked at The Heatwave Club.

Fit-wise, this is classic Gali with a Buligaa 4cm side... supportive, secure, and designed to hug the body in all the right places. Comfortable in the water, confident on the beach, and built for all-day wear.

The Details

This swim brief is part of Gali’s collaboration with Worimi-Biripi artist Jake Simon, translating his Gathering Pipis artwork into performance swimwear.

The design is inspired by childhood memories of collecting pipis along the Myall Lakes shoreline, with colours representing both cultural identity and the natural environment.

It’s built for performance and comfort, featuring:

Premium recycled fabric made from plastic bottles

The Heatwave Club will never increase prices beyond what the brand sets, and if anything, you might find items priced lower during sales. Buying multiple brands in one purchase may save you shipping costs than if you were to directly purchase these individually.

Returns & Exchanges

Our policy lasts 30 days from the date of purchase. If 30 days have passed, unfortunately we can’t offer a refund or exchange.

Items must be unused, in original condition
Must include original packaging and tags attached

Who covers return postage?

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. We strongly recommend using a tracked or insured service, as we can’t take responsibility for items lost or damaged in transit.

Once your return is received and inspected, we’ll email you to confirm:

Whether your refund has been approved

If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 28 days.

Can I exchange an item?

Exchanges are available if your item arrives damaged or defective. If you need to exchange for another reason, get in touch and we’ll try to help.

Unfortunately, sale items are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.
